Buying a car from the US is fairly easy and safe. But sometimes shipping it to Nigeria is where the problem lies. Your friends or family in the US may not have the time or documents required to do it.
For one, you need an EIN (Employer Identification Number) to ship a car from the US. This is different from Social Security Number and most people don’t have it. In that case you may be forced to seek the services of one of the numerous shipping companies in the US. Most of them do a decent job but some will take your money and not perform as expected.
This is where I come in. I have an EIN and have been shipping cars regularly to Nigeria for the past 2 years. With the experience I gathered in the field, I wrote a popular internet article on shipping a car to Nigeria. The article will tell you everything involved in the process. It is titled
“Shipping a Car to Nigeria: An American
Perspective”.
So if you are thinking of buying a car from the US, go ahead and do so. I will help you get it to Lagos as fast as possible for a small fee. Here are a few reasons why you should choose me over the
competition:
- I have a long experience in the car shipping business.
- I have an EIN (without it, you cannot ship a car from the US).
- I have a long-standing relationship with 3 good truck drivers. The first is from Nigeria, the second from Ghana and the third from Sierra Leone. They understand us more than anybody else and will handle your car with utmost care.
- I am an active member of Nairaland.com.
The states listed below are close to me. If you buy from any other state, it may be more expensive to ship. This is because I try to avoid shipping by phone. I have to physically see your car before taking it to the Port. Here are the states that are close to me:
- Connecticut
- Delaware
- Florida
- Georgia
- Illinois
- Indiana
- Kentucky
- Maryland
- Massachusetts
- Michigan
- New Hampshire
- New Jersey
- New York
- North Carolina
- Ohio
- Pennsylvania
- South Carolina
- Tennessee
- Virginia
- Washington, DC
Although the price of shipping to Nigeria goes up and down, it is the same for cars and jeeps (ie SUVs) regardless of year. Currently it stands at $955. Below is a breakdown of what it may cost you to ship a car to Nigeria:
